Since I checked the “Google Translate” version of this page of mine, I think it is necessary to sum up the most important things in a few words in English (about me and stuff). Sorry about my (possible) mistakes, my English is anything but perfect.
My name is Márton Simon. I was born in 1984.
I live in Budapest, Hungary.
I’m a poet, a freelance translator and a slam poetry performer.
First I studied Aesthetics and Literature and some creative writing too at Pázmány Péter University, though I actually graduated in ‘Japanese language and culture’ from Károli Gáspár University in 2015.
I published two collection of poems titled ‘Songs from the Mezzanine’ in 2010 and ‘Polaroids’ in 2013.
My first attempt at a Poetry Slam was in 2011. Since then I became sort of a ‘regular’ performer – which only means I do this quite often. (I’ve won a few contests too.) I performed in Serbia, Slovakia and Romania (actually in Transylvania) and in Brussels and Warsaw too. Some of my slam poetry texts were published in a book titled ‘Slam.Pont 2’ in 2015. I’ve organized slam poetry workshops, poetry readings and other poetry-related events during these last years.
Well, I guess that’s it.
Best regards :)
